Music
During our worship service, there are
many styles of musical expression offered
to focus our minds and hearts on the
Lord.  Musical selections range from
classical organ pieces and traditional
hymns to a wide range of contemporary
music styles.  Our current hymnal is The
New Century Hymnal, which includes
contemporary to traditional hymns using
inclusive language.  Hymns are from a
diversified cultural selection including
Hispanic, African, Asian, African-American
along with the more traditional hymns.
Organ selections are played on our new Rodgers Trillium organ which has a full
selection of traditional organ stops plus full digital midi capabilities.  Gathering music,
prelude, introit, hymns, offertory, choral benediction and postlude are included in
each worship service.

Anthems are provided each Sunday by the Adult Choir and are accompanied by
organ, piano, or guitar.  Members of the choir who also play musical instruments
(guitar, mandolin, and percussion)
accompany the choir at times.  Anthems are also
varied from traditional to more contemporary “Praise Songs”.  The Adult Choir
rehearses two Thursday nights a month plus Sunday mornings prior to worship
service.  New members are always welcome.
A music program for a Children’s Choir is
currently under development.  Rehearsal is
Sunday after church service.  A first musical
offering during normal worship is being
targeted for this spring.  Like the Adult Choir,
new members are always welcome for the
Children’s Choir.
