Christian Education Board's Statement of Intent

Because we know that faith is a gift from God, We pray for our
congregation's faith and our own.  In our Christian Ministry, we intend to
provide for instruction to our congregation in the history and tenets of our
faith in God and Jesus Christ.  In partnership with the congregation, we
intend to model this faith in what we say and do, and challenge each
other to make Jesus our guide in all aspects of our lives.

Our programs are invitational to the wider community, and we respect
other religious traditions.  Please join us in commitment to Christian
education in church and in daily living.

The Church School will be divided into three levels:

  • Beginners (Pre K and Kindergarten)  -  Our teachers in the Beginners
    Class will be using a curriculum called “Jesus Loves Me!”  Each week
    our students will be learning a new Bible story about Jesus, doing
    activities, sharing a snack, singing and bringing home a craft with
    questions on the back for the whole family to consider.  This class
    meets downstairs  in the Child Care area.

  • Middlers (Grades 1-4)  -  The Middlers will use a curriculum called
    “Friendship First.”  They will learn Bible stories and discover how our
    friendships with each other are like our friendship with Jesus.  This
    class will meet in the Community Room.

  • Juniors (Grades 5-8)  -  Juniors will meet in the upper room and they will
    be “Looking for Jesus” in video, worship, scripture and in people from
    the church.  In the second semester the class will be looking at the world
    outside of our church.  They will be creating a mural to share what they
    have learned.  

All Church School classes are held concurrently with the 10:30 a.m.
Sunday worship service.

Communion Sundays

On Communion Sundays, usually the first Sunday of the month, all Beginners
and Middlers are invited to attend a special Children's Service in our Upper
Room.  This special time for praise, prayer and worship will be held
concurrently with the 10:30 a.m. adult worship service.  

Juniors are expected to attend and participate in the adult worship service.

All children rejoin the congregation in the sanctuary to take part in
Communion.

Confirmation Class

Our Confirmation Class with Pastor Gregory Rupright will meet Sundays after
the 10:30 worship service.
